100% Shiraz. A full-bodied wine with intense colour. A wide range of black fruits, licorice, leather and oak aromas and flavours give the wine length.
Full-bodied, smooth in texture and structure, rounded tannins. Balanced, harmonious, with subtle, sweet oak.
15.0% Alc. Screwcap. 1.5L

The oak

Careful oak management is a priority to avoid over-oaking and the consequent masking of the natural fruit flavours.
21 months in 300L hogsheads
12.5% new American oak, 25% old American oak, 12.5% new & 50% old French oak.

Open fermenters, gently basket pressed, hand racked to clarity, unfiltered, no fining with foreign substances

In this film clip Peter refers to our 2007 Shiraz which has sold out. However, his comments are just as applicable and relevant to our 2009 Shiraz, which is made from the same vineyard, by the same winemaker and using the same winemaking techniques and oak combination. The main variation is the season, which is what makes a single vineyard wine intriguing and exciting!
